You may wonder how my Joomla website has been robbed and what has been stolen? If your site has been online for few months, chances are your site has been Hot-Linked by some thieves out there.

What is Hot-Linking?

"Hot-linking is a form of theft where other web sites link directly to the files on your site (such as images or product files) and display them on their own web pages (or link to them for downloading)."

So, why I care about Hot-Linking?

There are certainly a lot of reasons of why hot-linking will hurt your website. More hurts will go to those who are doing business online. Here are a few of the reasons why:

If you have visited someone'blog or if you are a blogger, then you should know that bloggers like to categorize their blog posts. It's a good practise to better manage your blog post in more organized form. At the blogger site, you will see a total number of blog posts for each categories. For example:

Games (18)
Other (13)

As you know the "Latest Comments Module For RSGallery2" is to display the latest comments from the images in RSGallery component. When someone click on the comment link, it will be linked to the image. It's pretty straight forward.

However, there is a user has made a report to me that some of the links has linked to the wrong pictures. I have successfully regenerate the error that the users mentioned, but the error is not the module, it is actually from the RSGallery2 commenting system.

The following step demonstrated how I regenerated the "commenting" error in RSGallery2:

One of the Joomla users had reported that the <br> tag used in this module does not contain the closing tag. This small fix is actually adding a closing tag to fullfil the HTML validation.

To download the latest version, heads to the "Downloads" section. Uninstall the old version in your Joomla apps and install the latest version.

If <br> without the closing tag does not bring any concerns to you, there is no need to install the latest version.

Description: Basically RSGallery2 component allows user to upload photo and other users can place comments on the photos. The module will allow the photo owners to be alerted whenever there is a photo comment submitted. Without the module, the photo owners or visitors will have to browse thru the photo one by another to check for the comment, which is very time-consuming.

**RSGallery2 component (http://www.rsgallery2.net/) is required to be installed first to ensure this module is working.

From my personal experience, it is much easier to get people to visit your website for the first time than to get "return visit" from them. So, some webmasters make the mistake of assuming that the easiest way to make a website popular is to get traffics as many new visitors as possible. This "assumption" is ONLY 100% correct if the new visitors will revisit the website many times.
